Описание:В книге излагаются результаты изучения структурного разнообразия плодов у представителей семейства Urticaceae и сближаемых с ним семейств. Впервые плоды исследованы у большого числа видов почти всех родов этого семейства, что позволило установить особенности структурной организации и развития плода как системы «цветок-плод-семя», разработать классификацию плодов, семян, структуры оболочек семени, форм полиморфизма плодов у представителей семейства. Определены возможные направления структурной эволюции плода и таксономическая значимость карпологических признаков. На основе данных карпологии критически рассмотрена систематика крапивных, предложена новая система семейства. Издание вносит существенный вклад в сравнительно-карпологическое изучение покрытосеменных растений, а также в решение проблем систематики и филогении семейства Urticaceae и порядка Urticales.
