Описание:Руководство включает 270 видов, широко распространённых в Средней России и характерных, в первую очередь, для естественных растительных сообществ. Для каждого вида приводится подробное морфологическое описание, диагностические признаки, сведения по экологии, географическому распространению и практическому использованию. Каждый вид проиллюстрирован рисунками общего плана и отдельных органов. Текст описания содержит ссылки на детали изображения, необходимые для точного определения вида. Приведены также сведения и рисунки, касающиеся ещё 50 видов, которые могут быть спутаны с описанными. Для поиска видов внутри книги имеется вспомогательный иллюстрированный ключ, и два указателя — алфавитный и таксономический. Кроме того, книга содержит словарь морфологических терминов с несколькими таблицами иллюстраций, перечень авторов таксонов и словарь наиболее употребительных латинских и греческих корней; для большинства научных названий растений даны этимологические сведения.
