Описание:В монографии обобщена информация, полученная из 79 ботанических садов Комиссией по редким и исчезающим видам растений Совета ботанических садов России. В книге содержатся данные о 332 редких видах растений и грибов Красной книги России, культивируемых в ботанических садах. Материал расположен в алфавитном порядке семейств, родов и видов. Сведения о каждом виде приведены в табличной форме и включают перечень мест культивирования вида, число растений в образце, его происхождение, срок интродукции и поведение в культуре. Вводная глава даёт анализ собранного материала, описывает роль ботанических садов в сохранении редких растений, а также перспективы и задачи этой работы. Особое внимание уделено международным соглашениям в области сохранения биоразнообразия растений и участию российских ботанических садов в их выполнении. Показано, что в ботанических садах выращивается 64 % видов сосудистых растений, включённых в Красную книгу России.
